Being at this protest restored much of my faith in the people of the United States. In a time of divisiveness the community came together to express their support for the immigrant population in our great country. Along side this positivity, I also had the chance to speak briefly with Utah congressional candidate Nate Blouin, who was well spoken, respectful, and firm in his support for all communities in Utah and the Salt Lake City area. The only drawback to me was the very temporary appearance of a MAGA supporter who felt the need to disturb a peaceful protest, although he was quickly driven away be the crowd. In terms of learning, I should’ve let my aperture sit around f/3.2 or f/3.5 to get rid of some bad fringing and other weird artifacts I was getting. Using a flash also would have been a good choice, but I like that I got to capture the environment as it was and not how it would be if it was brighter.
